Welcome to Sandnes
Sandnes has a population of 57 000 and is located on the south-western coast of Norway. The coast is very flat, while the inland area is more dominated by mountains and fjords. The City centre of Sandnes is 14 km south of Stavanger. It is a perfect destination for travellers wishing to discover a small city and it's beautiful countryside, which invites you to all outdoor activities.
Sandnes has the longest pedestrian shopping street and the largest shopping centre in Norway. Regardless of where you’re coming from, it’s easy to get to Sandnes. Sola is the nearest airport to Stavanger and Sandnes. There are several non-stop flights daily from London, New Castle, Aberdeen, Copenhagen, Frankfurt and Amsterdam, with further worldwide connections, also regular flights from Oslo, Bergen and Trondheim, for international and domestic connections. There is an Airport bus-connection between Sola Airport and Sandnes city every 20th minute. Railway Links

Norway's climate is less severe than might be expected from its geographical location. An interesting phenomenon in Norway is the seasonal change in the length of day and night. In midwinter, daylight lasts less than six hours in the southern part of the country, while in the far north darkness prevails. In midsummer, daylight takes over and there is no "real" night during June and July, even as far south as Trondheim. Language
