RAR-files

Have you ever downloaded something and when you open the folder there's a whole bunch of strange files inside?
Usually Windows has no clue how to open them, so you came here for a good answer.

When you download large files, like games, movies or applications they sometimes come in small archives. These archives can't be opened by windows, so you need to get a new program for that. The files are usually named something like: .r001, .r002, .r003 and so on. From this day you do not need to search for a solution!
The files can be opened with a application called WinRar, you can download it from www.rarlab.com.

Now what ?

After downloading and installing WinRar, open the folder with all the "strange" files.

One of them should be a .rar file.
If you can't see the file extension, Click the Tools Menu, Choose Folder Options > General tab > uncheck: "Hide extensions for known file types", click OK.

Now double click the .rar file (or .roo file), this will start WinRar.

Click the button called "Extract" and choose where to save the extracted content.

When WinRar has finished extracting the files, check that they work.
In this example we extracted a .iso file. ISO files are perfect copies of the original CD or DVD. Just open the ISO in your favorite CD Burning software and burn it to a CD or DVD.

Insted of opening Winrar and choosing to Extract the file, you could also do it the fastest way, by right-clicking the .rar file and choosing "Extract here"
